The City of St. Ansgar is accepting applications for a Water/WastewaterSuperintendent.

 

The essential duties of this position will be to oversee the repair, maintenance and improvements of the city’s water and wastewater treatment systems.  Along with routine duties of reading meters, turning water on and off, locates, and flushing of hydrants. Must have experience and ability to safely operate large equipment used in city operations.  Class B CDL required. Prefer individual with at least a level 2 certificate in drinking water distribution and treatment along with a level 1 certificate in wastewater treatment, or the ability to obtain certification in a timely manner.  Knowledge of the methods, techniques and practices in water and wastewater testing to comply with supply operational permits.  Basic computer skills will be required for record keeping and time management.  Must be able to multi task and the ability to change duties as unplanned situations arise.  Must be willing to attend training sessions and possible obtaining certifications as needed.  Required to live within a 15 minute response time of St. Ansgar.  This position requires working weekend and on-call shifts on a rotating schedule with response time to emergencies within 1 hour.  Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.  May be required to attend evening Council meetings.
